Lorry overturns in France killing 182 pigs

A lorry overturned over the weekend in the northeastern region of France killed more than 180 pigs. These pigs were being taken to slaughterhouses in lorries. A spokeswoman said Laurie was carrying a 205 pig, but it overturned on a roundabout from Itain. Only 23 pigs survived in this accident.

The source said that the rest of the pigs were killed instantly or critically injured by veterinarians. The driver of the lorry suffered minor injuries in the accident. According to a local newspaper, at the time of the accident, the animals were being taken to a slaughterhouse in Loyre.
